EU Applauds Qatar's Labor Laws Reforms

The annual report of the European Union "Human Rights and Democracy in the World 2021" praised the labor laws reforms in the State of Qatar, such as the abolition of the sponsorship system and the implementation of the minimum wage decision; noting that they are positive steps in labor law reforms, and that the year 2021 witnessed strong labor reforms in Qatar.




741 electric buses to serve visitors to Qatar and the World Cup public

The ministry of communications announced today that Port Hamad received the last batch of 130 electric buses, completing the supply of all electric buses with 741 electric buses. The ministry explained in a statement on its website that electric buses will be fully operated by the Kroh transport company as part of public transport to serve transport operations during the FIFA Qatar world cup 2022.


Qatar offers scholarships at Qatar Academy of Aviation Sciences to ICAO developing countries

Qatar, represented by the general authority for civil aviation, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) through visual communication technology. The memorandum provides for scholarships for students in developing countries that are members of the organization, where two-year diploma programs will be offered to students from these countries who wish to study at the Qatar academy of aeronautics in the various disciplines offered by the academy.


FIFA Welcomes UN General Assembly Resolution on Qatar Hosting of FIFA World Cup 2022

FIFA has welcomed the United Nations General Assembly consensus resolution from the recent 76th session which recognizes the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as the first such event to be held in the Middle East, and encourages the relevant authorities to ensure that it will leave a lasting legacy for peace and development in the region.


U.S. praises Qatari efforts to calm tensions

Qatar has strengthened its close security partnership with the United States, highlighting the importance of defense cooperation between Doha and Washington in establishing security and stability in the region and combating terrorism, according to a congressional research service report. The report also indicated that the strategic dialogue between the two countries institutionalized joint discussions on promoting regional and bilateral issues.
