Qatar, represented by the general authority for civil aviation, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) through visual communication technology.
The memorandum provides for scholarships for students in developing countries that are members of the organization, where two-year diploma programs will be offered to students from these countries who wish to study at the Qatar academy of aeronautics in the various disciplines offered by the academy.
This is aimed at increasing the capacity of developing countries to implement ICAO standards and recommended practices in the best way globally, and to enhance and develop the safety and development of civil aviation.
The memorandum was signed by Mr. Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri, who is in charge of the operation of the general civil aviation authority, and, on the part of the organization, his Excellency Mr. Juan Carlos Salazzra, secretary-general of the international civil aviation organization (ICAO).
The signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of continuous and fruitful cooperation between Qatar and all international organizations, in line with its role as an active partner in the international community, and in order to reflect its strategic partnership with the international civil aviation organization (ICAO) through joint work with it, and to participate in all the events and initiatives it launches to promote the safe development of the civil aviation sector around the world.
