Travel and return policy to Qatar in light of the COVID-19 pandemic

     Citizens and residents are advised to exercise caution when traveling to international destinations taking into account their   vaccination status and the extent of the spread of COVID-19 virus in the country of destination.​

     General policies:

    1. Travelers are responsible for finding out about any changes to the travel and return policy through official sources and websites before planning to travel to Qatar.
    2. Travelers must adhere to the procedures in force in the State of Qatar to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus at all times.
    3. Existing country ranking lists (red list) have been discontinued.
    4. Quarantine is no longer mandatory for all travelers coming from abroad, however, travelers who are confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 after their arrival in the State of Qatar must undergo quarantine procedures in accordance with the procedures followed in the State of Qatar.
    5. Citizens and residents in the State of Qatar aged (06) years and above must take a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) within a period of (24) hours upon arrival in the State of Qatar at one of the health centers of the Ministry of Public Health or private medical centers, bearing in mind that: The health status in Ehteraz app will be updated to be (grey) in case of non-compliance with the test procedure.
    6. Visitors aged (06) years and above must bring a certificate of the Polymerase Chain Reaction Test (PCR) with a negative result valid for (48) hours or a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) with a negative result valid for (24) hours, from the time of the scheduled flight to another country. Qatar The Rapid Antigen Self-Test is not valid for travelers from abroad.
    7. Children (0-5 years old) are exempt from testing for COVID-19-freedom.
    8. Citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries must download and activate the Ehteraz application on their mobile phones using a local or international SIM, knowing that they are excluded from the electronic pre-registration.
    9. All other categories other than the above-mentioned are obligated to download and activate the Ehteraz application on their mobile phones using a local or international SIM, in addition to registering through the pre-registration system for those coming to the State of Qatar through the website ( www.ehteraz.gov.qa ). ) within at least (3) days prior to arrival and uploading all relevant documents including vaccination or recovery certificates.​ Visitors to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament who hold a Haya card are not required to pre-register through the Ehteraz website ( www.ehteraz.gov ). .qa ).

    Ehteraz Application Policies:

    • Passengers coming to the State of Qatar must download and activate the “Ehteraz” application on their mobile phones upon arrival at the country’s ports. To do this, the traveler must obtain the following: 
      1. A SIM card from one of the service providers in the State of Qatar (Ooredoo or Vodafone). Or an international SIM card.
      2. Mobile internet connection.
      3. The smartphone supports Android 6 or later or IOS 13.5 or later.
      4. Download and install the mobile application either via Google Play, Apple App Store, or from any search engines on the Internet.
      5. Note that SIM cards and smart phones are available for purchase at Hamad International Airport and Abu Samra outlet if the traveler does not have them before arrival.
    • The health status in the precautionary application must be green in order for the person to be able to enter the public facilities in the country.
    • The health status of the fully immunized people in the State of Qatar will remain green with a golden frame to indicate that they are exempt from the quarantine.
    • The health status in the Ehteraz application for citizens, residents and visitors who received the vaccine outside the State of Qatar will remain green without a golden frame until their vaccine data is updated in the system or through  the website for vaccinations outside the State of Qatar  .
    • The health status will remain in the red precautionary application for people subject to quarantine, until the negative result of the COVID-19 free test appears.​
    • Diplomats, holders of administrative cards and VIP visitors coming on official visits to the country are excluded from this procedure.
