Qatar University organizes the fourth edition of the "Entrepreneurship Hunt" competition

Doha, November 19 / QNA / The Center for Entrepreneurship and Institutional Excellence at the College of Administration and Economics at Qatar University organized the fourth edition of the "Entrepreneurship Hunt" competition. The event was attended by Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah, Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Sheikha Al-Anoud bint Hamad Al-Thani, Deputy CEO of Qatar Financial Center, Dr. Rana Sabbah, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, and a large number of entrepreneurs, faculty members, and college staff.

A statement from Qatar University mentioned that more than two hundred male and female students participated in this research competition by presenting their entrepreneurial projects and ideas, following intensive training through workshops led by Dr. Sara Al-Muadeed, a business administration professor at the college and associate director of technology marketing at Qatar University, and the team at the Center for Entrepreneurship, represented by Dr. Mohamed Al-Jamal, head of the community engagement unit, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sufi, entrepreneurship officer at the center.

Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah, Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, praised the efforts of the Center for Entrepreneurship and the College of Administration and Economics at Qatar University in opening opportunities for entrepreneurs. He offered advice to students regarding their future in entrepreneurship, especially since Qatar places significant importance on this vital field.

Dr. Saeed Al-Banna, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Institutional Excellence at the College of Administration and Economics, emphasized the importance of this entrepreneurship-focused event, highlighting the college's role in increasing interest in this field through initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and supporting young entrepreneurs in coordination and collaboration with relevant entities in the country.

Dr. Sara Al-Muadeed, the creator of the Entrepreneurship Hunt competition and a professor of entrepreneurship and small project management, acknowledged the efforts made to ensure the success of the event. She outlined the steps that would be taken to honor the top four projects in this competition, which falls within the framework of developing and supporting entrepreneurship at the university level.

Following this, the top three winning projects were announced based on the decision of the judging committee from within and outside the university. The first place was awarded to the research poster of the students Hemyan Al-Subai, Maryam Al-Yafei, Reem Al-Darwish, Maryam Al-Ali, and Muna Al-Yahri. The second place went to the research poster of the students Mona Al-Muhannadi, Wisam Mohamed, Hessa Al-Muftah, Mawadda Al-Muri, and Noura Al-Bakar.

The third place was awarded to the research of the students Moza Al-Kuwari, Moza Al-Mahmoud, Fatima Al-Mulla, Fatima Al-Mansouri, Sara Al-Imadi, Sara Al-Subai. The fourth place was given to the research of the students Haya Al-Qahtani, Maryam Abdullah, Noura Al-Adhbah, Fatima Hussein, Shaima Al-Abdullah, Noura Al-Muri, in addition to honoring the best entrepreneurial project video.

It is worth mentioning that the competition lasted for two days, with more than 2000 students participating in the voting. The projects were evaluated by a group of experts from within and outside the university, including Professor Iman Al-Busti, President of the Qatari Women's Association for Investment and Economic Awareness, who supervised the evaluation of the competitors. Representatives from several financial institutions also attended the event, including the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank, and Qatar International Islamic Bank.
