Expo 2023 Doha: Inauguration of the Mexican Pavilion

Doha, November 6 / QNA / Today marked the opening of the Mexican Pavilion at the International Area of Expo 2023 Doha for Horticulture. The pavilion showcases a variety of plants and flowers brought to Doha, presenting Mexico's vision for a sustainable green future, addressing challenges of population growth, and increasing demand for essential resources such as water, energy, and food.

The Mexican Pavilion was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Jose Guillermo Ordorica, the Ambassador of Mexico to the State, and His Excellency Ambassador Badr bin Omar Al Dafaa, the Commissioner-General of Expo 2023 Doha for Horticulture, along with Engineer Mohammed Ali Al Khouri, the Secretary-General of the exhibition. The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, heads of diplomatic missions, accredited ambassadors to the country, government officials, and environmental enthusiasts, along with members of the Mexican community in Qatar.

Following the inauguration, the pavilion welcomed visitors to explore the authenticity of Mexican culture and heritage. The pavilion organizers emphasized showcasing Mexico's environmental diversity and its breathtaking nature.

The Mexican Pavilion is a new addition to the world exhibition, featuring flowers, plants, modern agricultural techniques, and innovative initiatives in the fields of sustainability and climate change.

His Excellency Mr. Jose Guillermo Ordorica, the Ambassador of Mexico to Qatar, expressed his delight in participating in Expo 2023 Doha for Horticulture, a significant event taking place for the first time in a desert country, expecting it to be unprecedented and distinctive, akin to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

He affirmed that Mexico's participation opens up new avenues for investment, promotion of its products, and the establishment of business partnerships. He emphasized Mexico's keenness to participate in this event, which serves as a platform bringing together more than 80 countries from around the world.

Ambassador Badr bin Omar Al Dafaa, the Commissioner-General of Expo 2023 Doha, stated that the Mexican Pavilion is a valuable addition to the global exhibition, showcasing diverse plants and flowers, including Mexican cacti. The pavilion aims to introduce visitors to modern farming methods while presenting Mexican heritage and culture.

He added that Expo 2023 Doha provides unprecedented opportunities for countries and international organizations to showcase their creative initiatives, agricultural practices, diverse cultures, and rich heritage.

In the coming days, several new international pavilions are expected to open, with officials from these countries presenting the latest innovations in sustainability and introducing the cultures of the participating nations.
