Qatar Energy and Qatargas celebrate the successful loading of 30,000 tankers from Ras Laffan

Doha, November 16 (QNA) - Qatar Energy and Qatargas celebrated the safe and successful loading of the 30,000th tanker from the stations operated by Qatargas in the port of Ras Laffan, in a historic achievement for the energy industry in the State of Qatar, where a cargo of liquefied natural gas was loaded on board. The Meknes, a Q-Max, chartered to Qatargas.

HE Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of Qatar Energy, said that loading 30,000 tankers from Ras Laffan Port is a historic achievement for Qatargas and Ras Laffan Port, as well as for the energy industry in the country, adding: “This appears once. Another is the ability of the State of Qatar to provide cleaner energy to all parts of the world safely, reliably and on time. He pointed out that Qatar Energy, as the developer of the largest port facility in the world for liquefied natural gas and other associated products, such as liquefied petroleum gas, gas-to-liquids products and condensates Refining and sulfur products are keen to maintain the position of Qatargas’ Ras Laffan terminal as a leading export facility for clean energy.”

His Excellency the Minister of State for Energy Affairs continued: "This achievement is very important, as it coincides with our progress in implementing huge expansion projects in the North Field, to increase Qatar's production capacity of liquefied natural gas from 77 million tons per year currently to 126 million tons per year, and the accompanying Increasing exports of various associated and refined products.

With the increasing demand for a wide range of Ras Laffan Industrial City products, Qatargas stations are preparing to ensure that these products are loaded reliably and safely, as the stations deal with approximately three million barrels per day of oil equivalent for both LNG and other products.

It is worth noting that the Qatargas terminal in Ras Laffan Industrial City began its operations in 1996.. The station area has expanded and the number of its berth facilities has increased significantly over time to meet the exports of new and expanded industries. This station, which includes six operational berths for liquefied natural gas, is the first LNG export facility in the world and the only gateway for Qatari LNG to reach customers around the world. It also has seven berths for loading non-LNG related products, a sulfur loading facility, and two offshore single-point mooring buoys for condensate loading.

The terminal provides a key strategic link in the chain between the gas extracted from the North Field and the end users of LNG.
