Doha, March 5 /QNA/ – The third edition of the "Ikbis" Old Doha Port Ramadan Beach Volleyball Championship is set to begin tomorrow, Thursday, featuring 12 participating teams. The tournament will run until March 14.
Faisal Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, confirmed in a press statement that all preparations for the tournament have been completed. He expressed gratitude to Old Doha Port for hosting the third edition of the Ramadan championship and extended his appreciation to all the sponsoring entities.
Al-Otaibi emphasized that this year's tournament will build on the success of the previous two editions, which were held at Aspire Zone and were successful on all levels—technical, organizational, and in terms of audience engagement.
The participating teams have been divided into four groups:
- Group A: Vikona, Azghawa, Mangosteen
- Group B: Al-Ameed, Al-Rayyan, Al-Udaid
- Group C: Tuhadi Al-Ma'loumat, Al-Wakrah, Al-Mirqab
- Group D: Khalifa City, Police College, Mareekh
Three matches are scheduled for tomorrow:
- The first match at 8:30 PM between Vikona and Azghawa
- The second match at 9:30 PM between Al-Ameed and Al-Rayyan
- The third match at 10:30 PM between Tuhadi Al-Ma'loumat and Al-Wakrah
The tournament follows a round-robin group stage format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
The organizing committee has announced a total prize pool of 100,000 Qatari riyals for the top three teams:
- Champion: 50,000 QAR
- Runner-up: 30,000 QAR
- Third place: 20,000 QAR
Additionally, 600,000 QAR worth of gifts and prizes will be distributed to spectators, along with various accompanying activities.
