Doha, April 29 / QNA / Qatar Museums announced the organization of a series of new workshops, interactive cultural activities, tours, and dialogues during the next month of May at several of its affiliated sites, shedding light on diverse worlds of art, culture, and heritage.
Al Wakrah House, as part of the Qatar Image Festival, will host a two-day practical workshop for creating a small magazine, manually producing small magazines: a workshop in experimenting with printed images, which are prints using photographic images assembled to tell a story, on May 24 and 25.
On May 4, M7 will host a "Beauty Makeup" workshop as part of the Creative Learning Space, aiming to acquire skills in makeup artistry and learn the fundamentals by a Hollywood-certified artist.
On May 11, the Museum of Islamic Art will host various art workshops for children, families, and adults. It is inviting children aged 8 to 11 to join a drawing and design workshop. In this workshop, they will learn how to improve their artistic skills and enhance their creative abilities and artistic perceptions through the use of colors and artistic blending. Participants can also design a painting with overlapping drawings, images, and colors.
The Museum of Islamic Art will also host an "Artist Adventure" workshop on May 11, an introductory workshop for children aged 5 to 7 about the world of art, starting with storytime focusing on the art world, followed by exploration activities where children will explore various craft techniques, expanding their knowledge gained during storytime, and enhancing their understanding of the art world.
From May 12 to 14, the Museum of Islamic Art will hold a workshop on "Imperial Elegance - Watercolor Painting for Adults," where participants will create stunning designs inspired by the exhibition "Imperial Elegance: Textiles from Iran," showcasing magnificent designs and allowing students to develop artistic works on watercolor paper using drawing and watercolor techniques.
On May 14 and 15, the Museum of Islamic Art will present the "Flower of the Past" workshop, where young artists aged 5 to 7 will explore the beauty of Islamic art and handicrafts through a captivating tour of the Islamic Art Museum's exhibition.
The National Museum of Qatar will host a "Memories of Sidra" session on May 4, narrating stories about the symbolic significance of sidra trees in Qatari heritage. The session will also include a guided tour focusing on the history of pearl diving and a family-guided tour targeting children under 12 years old with their families.
From May 13 to 20, the National Museum of Qatar will continue its events, offering daily tours of "The Pearl Divers' Story," targeting participants aged 16 and above who will explore the history and trade of pearls.
On May 18, the National Museum of Qatar will hold a "Family Exploration Trip," where families with children aged 6 to 9 will embark on an interactive journey through the halls of the National Museum of Qatar, providing a unique opportunity for children to deepen their knowledge of Qatar's environment, rich heritage, and culture by developing problem-solving skills.
On May 8, 15, and 22, the National Museum of Qatar will offer a workshop on "Mixed Media Collage for Homeschooled Students," inspired by the exhibition "Short Lessons: Abstraction in Arab Modernity." The workshop aims to teach homeschooled students in Qatar how to create artwork using mixed media.
The Arab Museum of Modern Art will host art lessons with Ismail Azzam every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (for beginners). Participants will learn multiple techniques for portraiture and drawing using different mediums such as pencil, charcoal, and paint. The workshop aims to provide a stimulating environment for the development of artistic talents, exchange of experiences, and engagement in artistic discussions.
Additionally, on May 4, Fire Station: Artists in Residence will host a workshop on "Creating Mood Boards for Fashion," where participants will learn how to create mood boards, discussing the advantages of creating a distinctive mood board.
