Qatar Development Bank Hosts the Advanced Industry Leaders Forum in Qatar

On October 25th, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the World Economic Forum, the Qatar Development Bank hosted a meeting of leaders of the Advanced Industry Platform in Qatar. This coincided with the visit of Professor Klaus Schwab, the founder and CEO of the World Economic Forum, to Qatar.

Mr. Abdulrahman Hisham Al-Suwaidi, the CEO of the bank, emphasized in his speech that the success of such initiatives depends on our cooperation in exploring and addressing local and global challenges. This is what we aim to achieve through the Advanced Industry Platform in Qatar.

He pointed out that the platform is concerned with the development of the industrial sector, supporting its growth, and accelerating digital transformation through the exchange of knowledge and experiences. It also involves discussing international industrial developments and the prospects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The hosting of the event complements the efforts made since the launch of the platform last year, in line with its strategy to transform Qatar into an advanced economic and manufacturing center and enhance its international relations.

The forum, attended by experts and industrial project owners, discussed the most significant achievements in industrial and advanced industries sectors. It highlighted their transformations in the Qatari entrepreneurship system and the successes of entrepreneurs.

The activities, held at the Qatar Business Incubation Center, shed light on the bank's Model Factory, the first center for developing industrial capabilities in the region. It also highlighted the achievements of Ready 1 and Ready 2 facilities and their positive impact on the national economy, as well as their role in supporting the industrial sector and entrepreneurs.

The forum hosted Mr. Adel Haider, CEO of Excel Metal, one of the companies that graduated from the Model Factory programs, who spoke about his journey with the factory. Mr. Wissam Soueilim, CEO of Delta Corporation, also spoke about his company's projects, prospects, and the important developments in the manufacturing field amid the digital transformation in the entrepreneurship system.

A panel discussion on global industrial developments and growth opportunities in Qatar took place on the sidelines of the forum, with representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the World Economic Forum, Qatar Development Bank, and the Model Factory.
