Deputy Chairperson of Qatar Tourism: Qatar Achieved Exceptional Leaps in Tourism Sector

Doha, October 10 (QNA) - Deputy Chairperson of Qatar Tourism Saad Ali Al Kharji underlined that the State of Qatar has achieved exceptional leaps in the tourism sector, placing it among the best tourist destinations in the region and the world.

In his speech during the opening session of the 3rd Arab Tourism Security Forum, which began Tuesday in Doha, Al Kharji stressed that the State of Qatar will continue efforts aimed at consolidating its position as a leading destination in hosting events in the fields of sports, medicine, technology, health, etc., which will enhance the tourism sector.

He reviewed the reasons and factors that contributed to choosing Doha as the capital of Arab tourism for the year 2023, highlighting the features and features of Qatar's vision to advance the present and future of its tourism industry. In this context, he explained that tourism security, in its general sense, represents a fundamental pillar of any tourism experience, and no country can achieve tourism development in the absence of security.

In this context, Al Kharji noted that the State of Qatar's record of security and safety represents one of its most important tourist attractions, and even places it at the forefront of many security and safety indicators at the regional and global levels.

He added that the country has witnessed a tremendous transformation in recent years in the tourism sector, and it has ably succeeded in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which is the undisputed best tournament of this century and has received global praise, whether at the level of organization, insurance or equipment.

He pointed out that Qatar Tourism succeeded in maintaining the great tourism momentum that accompanied the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 by relaunching the "Hayya" platform, which has become a unified portal welcoming all visitors to Qatar.

In a related context, he pointed to Qatar's success in developing infrastructure and enhancing tourism resources, so that visitors to Qatar can access and move around with ease and ease, and live rich tourist experiences that allow them to learn about the cultural heritage of the State of Qatar and enjoy its various offers and events.

He stressed that the State of Qatar always welcomes its visitors and does its utmost to guarantee them safety and security, as well as a warm reception, pointing to the great tourism potential it possesses, including having one of the best airlines in the world, and an international airport that has become a leading global center linking the East to the West, and it sits on the throne of the best airports in the world in the years 2021-2022.

Deputy Chairperson of Qatar Tourism reviewed the efforts of the State of Qatar in reviving its heritage by establishing a series of international museums and developing entire urban neighborhoods that reflect the spirit of innovation, such as Msheireb Downtown Doha, which represents a shining model through which elements of culture, sustainability and authenticity blend into one entity.

He pointed to some of the international events that Doha has hosted or is currently hosting, such as the Formula One World Championship and International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha, in addition to a calendar of events that will accompany the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
