Berlin, August 24 (QNA) - Arab Cultural House Al Diwan, an affiliate of Embassy of the State of Qatar in Berlin, is organizing a book fair with the participation of 66 publishers from across the world.
The three-day event, which kicks off Sep. 1, will see a number of journalists and academics debating about the most important regional and international issues as well as the signing of several agreements between the Al Diwan and other cultural bodies.
On the first day, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Republic of Germany, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani will deliver an opening speech. Later on the day, a debate between the paper and e-book will be held followed by a panel discussion on a book written by HE Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library, Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari on the North-South relationships.
Established in Nov. 2017 by the State of Qatar, the Al Diwan aims to enhance communication and understanding between Arabs and Germans, by spreading Arab culture and informing the German and European audience in general about the cultural, civilizational and human role of Arabs in different eras.
The idea of Al Diwan establishment stemmed from the fact that the State of Qatar is aware of the role of culture in building bridges of human and civilized communication, dialogue and understanding. (QNA)
