Doha-QNA: Her Excellency Dr. Hanan Muhammad Al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, confirmed that the National Command Center for Health Incidents is an essential element in the efforts of the health care sector to provide comprehensive services for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and it is in a state of complete readiness and readiness to lead the process of coordinating the response of the health care system at any time. "In the event of any major accident."

Her Excellency added that in the coming days, almost every part of the health care system will have an important role to play in achieving the goal of providing an integrated set of medical and support services in nearly 100 different locations linked to the World Cup, including locations where the tournament is taking place, and others that do not witness competitions, explaining that this matter required great efforts by the health care teams in the various facilities of the health care sector to reach this stage.

Her Excellency expressed her confidence in the health care sector's preparations to support the organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to be a safe and healthy tournament and to provide services in the required manner, given that all plans that were put in place are on the right track well in advance of the start of the tournament.

The National Command Center for Health Incidents is located at the headquarters of the Ambulance Service of Hamad Medical Corporation, and was established in 2020, to lead the coordination of the health care system response process at any time in the event of a “major incident” as the center coordinates the work of the main health care providers in Qatar. , including Hamad Medical Corporation, Primary Health Care Corporation and Sidra Medicine.

The National Command Center for Health Incidents operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as it provided support to the efforts of the health care sector in a number of major sporting events that were recently organized in the State of Qatar, such as: the Qatar Formula 1 Grand Prix and the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.

The National Healthcare Incident Command Center has been placed on high alert and readiness throughout the duration of the World Cup to ensure that the healthcare sector is in the best possible position to respond to any potential incident.
