In previous World Cup editions (with the exception of Russia 2018), those wishing to attend the tournament had to go through an arduous experience to eventually reach their final destination. The "fan ID" was an identification paper that the Russian authorities required the fans to carry during the tournament, and every ticket holder in the 2018 World Cup was required to carry this document in order to enter the stadiums hosting the tournament matches, in addition to the possibility of free use of trains or metro Or buses within cities on match days, and “Fan ID” proved successful in the organization of the 2018 World Cup and benefited more than two million football fans who flocked to Russia from abroad over the course of the tournament.
