Doha, October 27 (QNA) The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Qatari Numbering Office at Qatar Development Bank, organized a workshop entitled "Introducing the Qatari Numbering Office and the Global Barcode", within the framework of supporting the national economy through the industrial and service sectors.
The ministry said, in a statement today, that the workshop highlighted the definition of the Global Coding Organization (GS1) and the services it provides for business solutions, the definition of the global standards for coding (GS1 System), and the rules for granting global numbers for products, services and places, in addition to introducing the Qatar Numbering Office (GS1). Qatar) and the services it provides to Qatari companies, with the aim of spreading awareness and introducing local companies and institutions to the unified international standards system and the mechanisms for its application in the supply and supply chains to serve the various sectors in the State of Qatar.
The workshop also touched on the global coding and tracking system, after the State of Qatar obtained the code 630 to ensure a unique and distinctive definition that allows the possibility of tracking national products and marketing them at home and abroad, which contributes to increasing exports and complying with international requirements.
