Qatar University advances 100 places in the latest Times Higher Education rankings

Doha, October 12 (QNA) Qatar University advanced 100 places in the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings of world universities for the year 2023, to become among the top 250 universities in the world.

This ranking evaluated 1,799 institutions of higher education in the world (of which 137 were listed this year) according to the only global performance tables that govern universities, through extensive research, in all of their primary tasks; Teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

According to this classification, the main progress in the grades observed for Qatar University included two pillars: research and citations, which demonstrate the excellence and positive impact of the state's support for research funding.

Qatar University maintained its position in the top ten ranks according to the International Expectations Index, within the Times Higher Education classification, for the eighth year in a row.

In a statement on this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al-Derham, President of Qatar University, expressed his happiness with the great progress of universities in international rankings, and said, "We are pleased to see the university occupy a high position in the prestigious international university rankings."

He added, "This progress reflects the effort and commitment that the university always pledges to continue to enhance its position in the world, and it also recognizes our achievements in academia in terms of the quality of our programs, research and services."

It is worth noting that Qatar University has made significant progress in the prestigious international university rankings in recent years, due to its focus on innovation, its research prowess, its commitment to students and the rapid level of development of its programs, along with the changing educational landscape.

The university remains committed to aligning its goals with the Qatar National Vision 2030, and is committed to providing high-quality education in areas of national priority and focusing its research on addressing relevant local and regional challenges.
