Texas A&M University at Qatar organizes Industrial Maintenance and Repair Forum

Doha, September 28 (QNA) Texas A&M University in Qatar, one of the partner universities of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, organized a forum on industrial maintenance and repair in cooperation with Al Ain Holding, in the presence of a large number of experts and specialists representing government agencies and private sector companies.

The forum constituted an important platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance and repair, especially since the State of Qatar has always been working to develop its major industrial facilities and facilities, and has recently paid great attention to developing a manufacturing sector that relies on an effective supply chain system for industrial components and tools.

The forum brought together a group of experts and stakeholders to exchange ideas between the commercial, technical and educational sectors regarding the opportunities and challenges facing the industrial maintenance and repair sector in Qatar. It provided a platform for developing partnerships that enhance expertise and advanced capabilities in the field of industrial maintenance and repair. It also discussed the necessary training and educational programs to raise knowledge and introduce practical practices in this field.

In this context, Dr. Cesar Octavio Malafi, Dean of Texas A&M University at Qatar, affirmed the university's commitment to developing the capabilities of its engineers who are able to make a direct positive impact on the Qatari economy, expressing his happiness at hosting the forum for industrial experts and exploring opportunities and challenges facing the field of repair and maintenance in Qatar. Mr. Chilambarsan Chinapande, Regional Director of Castolin Eutectic Middle East, gave the keynote presentation at the forum on what he described as the value and impact of repairs and maintenance on the economy in general, highlighting some of the challenges facing the industry and identifying employment opportunities for the local manufacturing sector.

Dr. Marwan Khreisheh, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Program at Texas A&M University at Qatar, also delivered a keynote address titled “Technological Advances in Custom Manufacturing and Supply of Engineering Components,” in which he stressed the importance of Qatar-based manufacturing companies adapting modern technologies to remain Able to compete and grow its business.

He pointed out that Texas A&M University in Qatar includes eminent experts and state-of-the-art facilities that are eager to support the local manufacturing sector, calling on all participants to join the Texas A&M University in Qatar Manufacturing Consortium and participate in the university's various activities and its research and development projects.

The forum concluded with a panel discussion that included government experts and industry specialists who explored the role of the repair and maintenance sector in national resilience, current methods of repair and maintenance, and its role in advancing the manufacturing sector in Qatar and its strategy, as well as the role of the education sector in preparing qualified engineers in this sector.
