Today, the State of Qatar began activating its new developed airspace, after it entered all information related to this field into the radar devices approved by Qatar Air Navigation, and this step was successfully and smoothly achieved without any obstacles, and in accordance with air safety procedures.
The Doha Aviation Information Region was also activated by the Air Navigation Department of the General Civil Aviation Authority, which from the beginning was ready for such a moment that constitutes a milestone and important in the history of the aviation sector in the State of Qatar. It is worth noting that achieving this was based on the decision of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), that the State of Qatar has the right to establish its airspace for flight information.
Mohamed Faleh Al-Hajri, who is in charge of running the work of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said in a statement: This activation will mark the beginning of a very important stage for the civil aviation industry in the State of Qatar, during which we will witness a remarkable development and progress for this sector, in conjunction with the many benefits that will be achieved by activating the airspace, which will contribute significantly. Effective in enhancing air safety and improving the efficiency of safe and sustainable air transport operations, and supporting the work and development plans that the civil aviation system will pursue in the country during the coming periods, in accordance with international standards and in line with the latest developments witnessed by this sector worldwide.
