On the sidelines of the fourth high-level strategic dialogue in Doha: Qatar and the United Nations Office Strengthen Partnership Against Terrorism

The fourth high-level strategic dialogue between the State of Qatar and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, which was held in Doha, discussed strategies and cooperation for the effective support of the United Nations to member states in combating terrorism. The dialogue reviewed the main achievements, the impact of the policy, coordination mechanisms and capacity-building supported by the State of Qatar, and also highlighted the strategic priorities for the coming year for the effective support of the United Nations to combat terrorism to member states. The two parties reiterated their strong partnership and discussed opportunities for cooperation, as the State of Qatar is the second largest contributor to the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Trust Fund among 35 other donors. Her Excellency Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, opened the dialogue, which was chaired by Vladimir Voronkov, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, and Major General Abdulaziz Abdullah Al-Ansari, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Head of the Department of International Cooperation.
