H H the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a phone call today from Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the friendly Federal Republic of Germany.

During the call, they discussed relations of cooperation and friendship between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to reviewing the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.

In this context, the German Chancellor expressed her thanks to His Highness the Emir for the efforts of the State of Qatar in the peace process in Afghanistan, and in the operations of evacuating civilians from Kabul.
