Qatar consolidates its position on the throne of natural gas and seeks to provide clean, low-carbon energy

The State of Qatar is moving strongly towards a total transformation towards reliance on clean energy and reducing carbon emissions.

At a time when the State of Qatar is consolidating its position on the throne of liquefied natural gas as the largest gas exporter in the world, it is moving strongly towards a total transformation towards reliance on clean energy and reducing carbon emissions by adopting the highest environmental standards in the gas industry.

This approach was confirmed by his highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani - in his recent speech to the Shura Council - as he stressed his country's interest in the energy sector, and said that "changing the name of Qatar Petroleum to Qatar Energy reflects actual Qatari support for the transition towards clean and renewable energy."
