The FIFA Referees Committee has appointed 52 match referees (12 field referees, 24 assistant referees and 16 video referees) from 27 countries from all the continental confederations to officiate the matches of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.
The list of referees scheduled to run the 2021 Arab Cup matches included an Egyptian referee, Ibrahim Nour El-Din, and he will be present in video technology.
The tournament will kick off on Tuesday (November 30th) with a match between Tunisia and Mauritania at Ahmed Ben Ali Stadium. Qatar, host of the tournament, will start its campaign on the same day when it faces Bahrain at Al Bayt Stadium.
The first edition of the FIFA Arab Cup will also conclude with the final match on Saturday 18 December at Al Bayt Stadium. The appointed referees will be closely monitored before and during the tournament by technical specialists including FIFA referees coaches, video referees, fitness coaches, physiotherapists and sports scientists to provide Referees, assistant referees and video referees with the best possible preparation and support.
The tournament, which will be used with video assistant referees (VAR) technology, represents an important step on the road to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ for the participating match officials, according to the FIFA website.
