Minister of Communication and Information Technology to QNA: MWC Consolidates Qatar's Position as Global Hub for Digital Innovation

Madrid, March 05 (QNA) - HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai emphasized that Qatar's hosting of the Mobile World Congress (MWC Doha) reflects Qatar's commitment to being a global hub for digital innovation, noting that this event represents an important opportunity to achieve the country's digital and economic agenda.

In his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai said that hosting the conference enhances Qatar's position as a regional and global hub for innovation and technology, as the event attracts thousands of visitors and participants from around the world, senior executives, experts, and investors in the technology sector, contributing to supporting Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on a knowledge-based economy and digital transformation.

His Excellency pointed out that the conference will contribute to attracting the largest companies specialized in the field of technology, information technology infrastructure, the Internet of Things, and modern technological fields such as artificial intelligence, data centers, cloud computing, and 5G technologies.

His Excellency added that this hosting represents a platform for dialogue and international cooperation between major companies and government agencies to discuss the future of technology. He noted that this will contribute to strengthening and developing the communications and digital transformation sectors in the State of Qatar.

HE the Minister of Communications and Information Technology indicated that hosting the conference supports the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030, through developing human capital by enhancing digital and technological skills through workshops and dialogue sessions and diversifying the economy by encouraging investment in digital and innovative sectors, which reduces reliance on traditional sectors.

His Excellency noted that the conference is unique in its kind, as it focuses on the infrastructure of information technology and the Internet of Things. He pointed out that it is expected to contribute to spreading the culture of innovation and technology with a focus on digital inclusion and enhancing sustainable environmental development by adopting clean technology and sustainable digital solutions in various sectors.

HE the Minister of Communications and Information Technology added that the MWC Doha contributes to consolidating Qatar’s position as a global hub for digital innovation through several aspects, such as attracting global technology leaders, enhancing the country's digital infrastructure, providing opportunities for Qatari companies to enhance their presence in global markets, and supporting the implementation of the latest digital solutions, which enables the government and companies in the State of Qatar to benefit from advanced technologies in various sectors, in addition to expanding the scope of regional and international cooperation, by signing new partnership and investment agreements with leading countries and companies.

His Excellency pointed out that the conference offers unique investment opportunities, as it allows Qatari companies to access global markets, and attracts foreign investments in the fields of cloud computing, AI, and 5G technologies, in addition to the importance of the conference in supporting partnerships between the public and private sectors to enhance digital economic growth in the country, expand the scope of innovation and entrepreneurship, and stimulate the development of digital infrastructure by showcasing Qatari projects in the field of digital transformation.
