Qatar Tourism Enhances Safety Measures at Children's Entertainment Centers

Doha – Al-Raya:

Qatar Tourism, in collaboration with the Qatar Diabetes Association, organized a workshop titled "Diabetic Children in Public Places and Entertainment Cities." The workshop, held on July 29 with the presence of 41 representatives and operators of entertainment centers in Qatar, aimed to highlight the necessary measures to ensure safety and protection for children diagnosed with diabetes while in entertainment facilities. The goal of the workshop was to create a safe and supportive environment for these children by raising awareness among the staff and operators of entertainment centers about diabetic children and finding sustainable solutions to challenges they may face in these centers.

The workshop was led by Ms. Kathy Nuhas, Program Director at the Qatar Diabetes Association, who presented a comprehensive overview of the rights of diabetic children and the standards required by the Qatar Diabetes Association to be implemented by entertainment facilities in coordination with Qatar Tourism.

Mr. Mohammed Al-Ansari, Director of the Tourism Licenses Department at Qatar Tourism, stated: "Qatar Tourism is committed to enhancing our strategic partnerships with both the public and private sectors to ensure safety in our community and country. This partnership is particularly significant given the rising prevalence of diabetes among children in Qatar. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for children to enjoy their childhood safely and without risks. Agreements on preventive measures have been reached between entertainment facility operators and the Qatar Diabetes Association to ensure the safety and security of children and their families."

Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamaq, Executive Director of the Qatar Diabetes Association, said: "The Qatar Diabetes Association believes that children diagnosed with diabetes have the right to fully integrate into society without compromising their medical safety or facing discrimination due to misunderstandings and stereotypes surrounding diabetes."
