At the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly, His Highness the Emir announced that Qatar will continue its initiatives in Supporting developing countries, and in providing aid in disaster areas. During the last five years / preceding the session, it provided government humanitarian aid amounting to about two billion and two hundred million dollars, in addition to non-governmental aid amounting to about three hundred and ninety million dollars.

With regard to the Syrian crisis, which has been unresolved for more than a decade, His Highness the Emir affirmed that the international community must redouble efforts to end this crisis through a peaceful solution in accordance with the "Geneva-1" Declaration, and implement Security Council Resolution 2254 with all its elements and maintain Syria's regional and national unity, sovereignty and independence, His Highness the Amir also affirmed that the State of Qatar will continue with the international community to support efforts to achieve justice and hold accountable the perpetrators of the atrocities, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Syria.
His Highness indicated that "in the humanitarian field, we will continue to provide all aspects of support and assistance to the brotherly Syrian people in the areas of displacement and asylum until the end of this crisis."

Combating terrorism is among the priorities of the State of Qatar's policy at the national, regional and international levels, and His Highness the Emir addressed this issue more than once in his speeches before the international organization, stressing that terrorism is one of the most important challenges facing the world because it represents a real threat to international peace and security, and impedes the achievement of international peace and security. The sustainable development of peoples, and His Highness added that we in the State of Qatar spare no effort in actively participating in international and regional efforts to address this phenomenon and address its roots, especially by supporting education for millions of children, youth and women and creating job opportunities for young people, and the State of Qatar will continue its active participation in international efforts to combat violent extremism.
